Store Essentials — Privacy Policy
Store Essentials ("the app") is a ShopAppsLab app, published by Nerddevs Ltd. This policy explains what information the app handles when a merchant installs it on a Shopify store. It covers the Store Essentials app only; every ShopAppsLab app has its own privacy policy.
What the app does
The app adds three blocks to a store's theme: an announcement bar, a trust badge and a FAQ accordion. Merchants set them up in the Shopify theme editor. The settings are saved by Shopify as part of the theme, not by us.
Information we collect
None. The app requests no access scopes, so it cannot read a store's products, orders, customers or any other store data. We do not use a database and we do not store merchant or customer information.
To show the app's home page inside the Shopify admin, the app checks a session token that Shopify sends with each request. We use it only to confirm the request comes from Shopify and to build links to the merchant's theme editor. The token is not stored.
Shoppers
The blocks run in the shopper's browser. If the merchant makes the announcement bar dismissible, the shopper's choice to close it is remembered in that browser's local storage. It never leaves the browser and is not sent to us.
The app sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts.
Data requests and deletion
Shopify sends apps privacy requests (customer data requests, customer redaction and shop redaction). Because the app stores no personal data, there is nothing to return or delete; the app acknowledges each request.
Hosting
The app's home page and its privacy-request endpoint run on a server operated by Nerddevs Ltd. Like any web service, the server processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the service. When a privacy request arrives, the app logs that a request of that type was received, not which store it was about. The web server's access logs are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting information, we will update this policy before that change ships and show the new date above.
